DIY: check engine / service engine soon light from HFC fix
Step by step on how to get rid of check engine/service engine soon light after installing high flow cats or test pipes.
-purchase spark plug anti foulers at your local auto parts store -will need 4 total 2 for each sensor -18 mm size -made by HELP brand / part number 42002 http://i42.tinypic.com/bgz1vd.jpg http://i42.tinypic.com/2epsnyc.jpg http://i41.tinypic.com/x23sif.jpg -disconnect the negative terminal on your battery -take one of the anti foulers and drill out its center using a 1/2 bit -this will increase its hole size and allow your stock o2 sensor to fit http://i42.tinypic.com/2568u21.jpg -when finished this is what it will look like http://i43.tinypic.com/28m1oaf.jpg http://i42.tinypic.com/nbyljo.jpg -side by side comparison of the original and now modified non foulers http://i39.tinypic.com/2rgjq0w.jpg http://i41.tinypic.com/141dfm.jpg -screw the drilled spark plug anti-fouler on top of the original -be sure to use some kind of anti-seize on the treads. in case you need to remove your fix with ease http://i41.tinypic.com/2js1vp.jpg -unscrew your stock o2 sensor and place your cel / ses fix in -use anti seize on the threads -o2 Sensor inserted in the modified non fouler http://i41.tinypic.com/6psto7.jpg -unmodified non fouler now installed on modified non fouler http://i39.tinypic.com/35dajwz.jpg -original non fouler->Modified non fouler->o2 sensor http://i40.tinypic.com/10da42r.jpg -reinstall your o2 sensor -reconnect your battery and do a ecu reset |
