Also Depo Racing are awesome gauges(digital-full sweep, step motors) pretty accurate gauges, I have one in my GS and I love it,has opening ceremony and it can be wired for 2 colors one during the day and the other at night/headlights on! Just figured I share my experience with them gauges, and also it's cheaper then the autometer one(not knocking on the gauge recommend above by any means)

This thread was a great help! I just bought an '09 G37xS, and used this thread to help rule out any issues with this timing chain gasket.

The car has 149k miles. So I was surprised that it did so well on this test. My obd scanner live data doesn't read coolant temp, so I had to guess. It was over 90 psi at 2k rpm when I thought the oil was up to around 180 degrees (estimated by feeling oil filter). Once it was fully warmed up and feeling like hotter than 180 it was still over 70 psi at 2k, and about 25 psi idle. So it passes!

Note: Oil pressure min specs, missing from this thread, are:

43 psi @ 2k rpm with oil temp 176 degrees
16 psi @ idle with oil temp 176 degrees

Maybe the PO had the gaskets changed. CarFax shows they went to the dealer for all the scheduled maintenance, and also did all the recommended services. Or maybe this engine just hasn't had the issue yet. Its an early 3.7 (2009), so it should have still had the paper gaskets from the factory. I will ask dealer to lookup if the car ever had this service at any dealership.

The car needs a good cleaning, but otherwise its solid. $7k, so feeling good about the purchase.

I bought the HF oil pressure tester. They have improved it since OP reported on it. It now has a swivel end on the hose, and the BSPT 90 elbow was correct and the threads were clean.

On the 3.7, the stock oil pressure sender is now located on top of the filter housing, but otherwise the directions here are the same. Its a PITA though to remove the sending wire. Can't easily get up there to squeeze the release tab.

Once again, huge thanks to OP on this detailed thread.
