Q8y's uprev tune results
So after replacing my worn fuel pump with a new unit, I went to the only Uprev tuner here for a dyno tune. I bought the Osiris Tuner version so changes can be made easily and hopefully I will learn to tune the G myself later on. Anyhow, the initial figures were pretty low compared to my last dyno run. I guess 110+F ambient temps and filthy intake filters did not help lol.
Before the Uprev tune, my baseline was 246whp. After a ~2 hour tuning session my final number came out to 266whp. That's a 20whp gain from peak-to-peak. Down low, the difference was anywhere from 20whp to 25whp throughout the powerband. No torque though since it wasn't showing up properly. I think it was around 230wtq when we checked. Car specs 2008 G35 5AT VQ35HR Mods: Injen CAI, Invidia HFC, Stillen CBE http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...reandafter.jpg My friend has a video which I'll put up when I get it. |
By "baseline" do you mean with all your bolt-ons? 20hp for just a tune is crazy good. Looks like you had good gains throughout the rpm range!
|
yeah baseline is before tune with all the bolt-ons, so the 20whp gain is from tune only.
I'll do another run on the previous dyno I used for a better comparison. The one I tuned on had a slow as hell fan and it just read low on every car. |
humm interesting.
How does the car drive? Does it feel faster? |
Definitely! especially from a stop or low speeds. I can feel it slightly but at high speeds the needle moves faster. It now spins the tires through second gear when I was only used to do so on first gear before. It feels great, acceleration feels far smoother too.
Here's a video>> |
Can you list out all your bolt-ons?
|
Not bad numbers dude! almost got the same mods as me! I got 280WHP and 241TQ with my dyno tune with the Cobb AP!
My Mods are Injen CAI, FI HFC's, and Stillen Cat back! But every dyno is diffrent, I know mines drives and runs harder than Stock. So it's not all about just the Numbers! :) |
Mods are Stillen CBE, Injen CAI, Invidia HFC. They're listed above.
Yeah we got the same mods :D My previous baseline run on a proper dynojet (this one reads way too low for a DJ) was 260whp. so with a 20whp peak gain, that would put me to about 280whp like you LOL |

[/url] Man, i must be a granny driver. I've never been able to even break 1st loose unless the road is wet, or the car is on loose gravel. ... and i get 21.xx mpg on average. :o |
I'll get a video spinning all the way through 2nd gear when i can :D
On wet roads i spun it through 4th gear at low speeds. So punch it from a stop, *wheels spin* hit the limiter, shift to 2nd, limiter still hitting, shift to 3rd, limiter hits again and then 4th. By the time i hit 4th i'd be doing maybe 40mph lol. oh and warning, don't attempt on public roads. |
I've got to try that sometime. RWD AT's are a whole lot different when it comes to spinning the tires. FWD AT's are easier when it comes to this :D
|
yeah they are. it's scary though when u realize ur only going 40mph and the rear tires are spinning at over 120mph in 4th lol. I gotta try it again with the tune next winter :D
|
lol Q8y get a video up already :p
|
I need someone to film for me but all my friends are too damn busy. I need to buy a camera mount sometime and just do it all myself.
|
I'll pop over dude, what is like a 10hr drive? O.o I'll get the UpRev tune done as well ..................I wish :(
