Stillen VQ35HR Supercharger Kit

I noticed that Stillen released their 50-state legal dual throttle body supercharger kit for 2007+ 350Z's. Anyone happen to know if the kit will be a direct bolt-on for 2007+ G35 sedans?

I've looked at the GTM kit, however, don't believe it's CARB legal.

Is this the kit you're referring to?

IMHO, that's a bit too rich for the gains you get. :icon43:

(and that graph was from a Z, chassis losses would probably be even greater on the G)

Thank you for the insight. I appreciate it.

FWIW, check out MyG37, there are at least two members who have well-documented posts of their experience with the Stillen kit who eventually went the GTM route.

That's a pretty cool setup... I bet you could pull a good amount of power out of that

This setup is very well thought out. I love the water to air intercooler, makes the kit very simple with low intrusion. I am strongly considering this kit for the summer, I've just been waiting for them to make something official about it working on the 07-08 v36 sedan.

I just see 40 ft.lbs. of torque at a price tag over $6800 (with tax) before any installation and tuning costs. That's gonna end up somewhere well north of $200+ per ft.lb. of torque added. :eek3:

Sure, I'd like to have an extra 40 ft.lbs. of torque as much as the next guy, but am I missing something here? :dunno:

According to Stillen, the G37 kit isn't compatible with the VQ35HR and they currently don't have any plans to produce a kit for the 3.5L car.

They make one for the 07-08 350Z VQ35HR, but no compatibility has been mentioned with the VQ35HR sedan. I really want to try this kit out, I really like the fact it uses water to air intercooling, since water has a cooling factor of 14 to 1 vs air, I wonder how this kit would hold up road racing vs the GTM kit which probably heat soaks the motor very quickly.

I just need another 100hp-125hp and my car would be perfect. :driving:

I'm going to start trolling Stillen about compatibility issues with 350z vq35hr and the g35 sedan.

Just remember, air is passive and always available. Water is far more involved and needs to be extremely well executed or reliability can suffer tremendously.

thats the major problem with the supercharged cobalts... the cars would pull rediculous for a few seconds then the stock cooling setup (air to water) would heat soak and slow everything down. but that was gm doing there cheap everything to make the car out the door mods hahaha

in reality the people in those cars that did nothing but cooling mods would gain more than a second at the 1/4 mile going from mid to low 14's to low 13's some in the high 12's.
