Mix/Match Spring kit... what do y'all think?
 

Well, my shock idea seems to be falling through.

I have some Tanabe NF210's right now. They are 1"f/1.3"r.

Tein H Techs are said to lower 1.4"f/0.7"r.

What do you all think about splitting them up and using the Tanabe fronts and H-Tech rears for a 1"f/.7"r drop.

Then, I'll have the other "set" which will allow for a 1.4"f/1.3"r drop, surely someone can hook up with me to use that other half for a nice drop there as well.

My goal is handling, not drop, so if this will provide the least amt of drop with maybe a smidge better handling, I might go for it. Any thoughts?

You are about 1/2 way to coil overs ... may as well take the leap!;)

Off hand, I'd think mix/matching springs from different makers is a bad idea unless you knew the spring rates of each spring.

my question is...why do some manufacturers drop the rear more than the front? i thought it would be ideal to lower the front a tiny bit more than the rear....

I don't think they do drop diff. It's that the rear wheel well is often shaped diff so it appears to be lower (visually). A better comparision would be to measure right behind the front wheel well (side skirt) and right in front of the rear wheel well and compare. (dist from the ground to the bottom of the side skirt)

I really doubt with the two spring options mentioned, that the spring rates are going to be way off.... they're both billed as a 'near-stock ride' and I imagine they'll work together fairly well.

What I'm thinking of doing is installing the Tanabes... then, if I feel the rear is too low and the car looks weird, then I may get some H-Techs and put their rears on. Ideally, a 1"/1" would be perfect but since no one is offering that, I can come close, it'll just cost a tad more.... but still less than importing some Impul springs.

Rears are fairly close in rates... I don't think it would be a problem.

Let me ask this tho. The GF210 has the rated lowering of: 1.5 / 0.9 on the 06 sedan. Wonder how this would translate onto the 07/08 car. Being that the newer car is a little bigger/heavier, the drop would be a tad more you think?
