Hi,

I am looking at buying a base G35 and would like to add paddle shifters in the future. Are the wires for the paddle shifters there or not?

Thanks,

Panek

Buy the Sport Package. If you can't afford it, don't buy an Infiniti.

Seriously though, the time and money spent to do the installation and get the parts, etc would equate to just purchasing the Sport package in the first place and having all the work done for you to include better wheels, better brakes, VLSD and better springs.

Just sayin.

LOL... a bit harsh of a delivery, but I have to agree.
I mean, we're talking around 2-3K to change from a base to what you really want. Save for one more month and don't skimp.
Save and purchase what you want, or find another make/model that you can afford, like maybe the new Mazda 6.

Apparently the base models do not come pre-wired for the paddles. There is a guy in myg37.com that has a base G37 and has the same problem as I do. If you buy the journey model, then it appears that you can add them.

If you are going to install the same parts to the base so that it becomes a sport model, then I agree with you. To me there certain things I don't like about the sport models like the front bumper, the base bumper seems nicer to me. Anyway, the paddles are worth $180 and are installed in less than 30 minutes. I got 19 inch wheels and staggered tires and did not pass the $1000mark, while I sold the base wheels close to $800. Suspension wise the only difference are that sport models have beefier sway bars and a bit stiffer rear shocks, so you really don't notice any big difference unless you are a hardcore track driver, and still. The only really good part that I really would like is the LSD, that's it. The seats aren't even that sporty to really want them, the base ones are pretty good. In the end, the base is still the lighter car and will outaccelerate any other model, except the 6MT. To me, the only real sport model is the 6MT, which i would have gotten if they'd bring it to where I live.

I bought my car used, so I am not sure what model I have. I have alot of the tech options, XM radio, Backup cam, intelligent cruise control, that certainly isn't a base model right? How do I figure out what model I have?
