Sun Visor Mounting Repair Issue

My driver's side sun visor been getting loose so I removed it yesterday to see if I could just tighten the screws a bit and firm it back up. When I took the cover plate off and started backing out the screws, I noticed that they weren't threaded into anything at all anymore. The only thing holding it up was the clip itself. Looking into the hole it appears that there used to be some sort of threaded back plate or nut. If you look at the picture below you can see a little of what was left in the left hole. It came right out and was only about a single thread thick. Whatever used to be behind the right hole as gone.

To fix my preference would be to aquire new threaded pieces to crew into but I'm not sure if that's a part you can buy. Does anyone have experience with that? I also thought about buying a matching nut and bolt of similar size and jb-welding the nut to the back so that I'd have something to screw into. I really hate the idea of jury-rigging this car though. Can anyone think of better options?

Thanks,
Matt

Google "clip nut images" and see if you get any ideas.

Yep, that's perfect. So far my best idea was a "tee nut" but I was going to have to epoxy that into place. I'd rather see if I could find a clip that'd to the trick. Finding one that'll fit nice may be a challenge since the top of the plate has some vertical metal pieces for some reason. I think I may have just enough room to work though. Thanks for the tip!

Issue resolved on the cheap. Thanks!

This doesn't seem to be a common problem but I'm going to go ahead and provide an update for posterity. I went to AutoZone and found a box of assorted U-clip (aka clip nuts). I'm not sure exactly what size I used but the smaller of those two clips (the one on the right) worked best. You need a small size because on the other side of the plate there are some metal obstructions that you need to avoid. In any case, it works great and I didn't need to do any stupid jury-rigging. Plus, if it breaks, I you can just replace the clips and try again. I think the box was something like $3.50. Thanks for the suggestion.

Smaller clip on right seemed to work best.
