Meguiar's G35 Detail Day - AWESOME!
 

It was too bad that those of you who signed up couldnt make this event. Big ups to Daniel for working this out and a SUPER big thanks to Meguiar's for hosting today's event.

I was so impressed with today's event. What i really appreciated the most was learning about detailing process without too much of a sales pitch behind it. Mike @ Meguiar's is a SUPER knowledgeable guy who really knows his stuff. You can catch him on Meguiar's forum.

We learned about the history of Meguiars, learned about their web resources and got to see first hand a lot of their products in action. We only got to fully detail two cars (at least during the demo) but Meguiar's let us test out their product lines at our leisure.

My car was clean so all i basically did was touch it with quick detail spary, tire stuff and plastic cleaner for my headlamps. I was amazed with the results i got from ScratchX. I had a decent size scratch that i was able to remove with ease!


Overall it was an awesome day hanging out w/ my fellow G's. Big ups to all those who made it on time. I can tell you all that we were a little disappointed that we didnt get the participation we expected...

I dont have pics to post, i know that Dave0 and maybe Ed caught a few that they can post later. I got to the event and took out my camera only to find out that the battery didnt take charge last night! DOH! Okay.. Rule #1 make sure your camera works BEFORE you got to an event.

It was good meeting you all, i am sorry that i didnt catch everybody's name..

Off to enjoy my clean car!

jeez wickedg35... thats got to be the clearest mirror reflection ive ever seen. i didnt know it was a pic of a body panel at first, thought you randomly took a pic of a house :)

All I can say is WOW! Meguires is truly awesome.

I thought I new alot about car detailing but I learned so much more on Saturday. The products they produce are world class and the people I met at their facilities were very knowledgeable.

Mike, the presenter and demonstrator was very professional and helpful. Mike's assistant was also very nice and helpful.

My car was one of the two that were chosen by Mike for the demonstration. We first used the Quick Detailer to clean off the washed car. Then we used a clay bar along with the Quick Detailer to get the hidden dirt off. Next Mike used a Dual Action Polisher to apply their paint cleaner # 80 to take out the cob webs, swirl marks, and water spots. We then followed this up with the application of their new NXT Tech Wax for an amazing shine and protection. My car has never looked and felt this good before.

It was a fun learning experience for myself and everyone that attended. Thanks to Mike, Mike's assistance and Meguiars for the event. Also, thanks to soaped for setting up the event. Special thanks to DaveO for the tips and motivation provided while I was working on the rest of my coupe.

DUDE VIC. You and ZACK are now DEFINITYLY GOING TO DO MY CARS. I wish i could have made it out. I knew that you Zack and i woul dhave had a great time if i came also. Wish i got my car back by then.
