Why are 19's so much more?

Can someone give me the reasonning behind 19's costing so much? Ever shop I went to gave me better prices on 20's than 19's ? I would love to find out why. Someone please chime in. thanks

because with the hiphop evolution... everyone wants "dubs" so they're is a higher market for 20" wheels/tires therefore the price is less than that of 19's which are less widely used in the automotive industry.

19"s aren't as common as other sizes, it's not until recently 19"s have been produce on a large scale and there was a demand for them. Give it a few years and it will be as common as 20"s.

i'm also considering your old setup. the 5zigen did you have to do anything extra so the wheels would fit? Did you roll your fenders?

Gdup35sedan Mar 30, 2007 12:31 AM

I didnt have to do anything to fit the 5zigens, i only had the wheels on for a couple days before i put on the Tein Basics so i rolled the fenders just because i knew i was going to have to eventually. But with the Z springs, you wont have a problem. However if you're not going to lower it anymore in the future, i would suggest going with a 245/35 275/35 setup instead of a 275/30 in the back just to fill up the fender gap. You would probably have to roll your fenders with a 275/35 in the back but it's well worth it looks wise and is a DIY thing, i rolled my fenders in my driveway in 20 minutes.

Odd sizes are always more money, don't know why

they are not as widely produced... supply/demand. When more people demand it they can make it at a cheaper cost to the consumer.

thats why I went from 19s to 20s to hard to find a decent price .

chinaman_87 Mar 31, 2007 05:14 AM

i might go with 20's if I can find a nice design but I'm a little worried about losing ride comfort.
