TPMS, how to get to work w/ aftermarket 20's
alright guys, im new to the G35C just bought an 07 today..
previous cars Evo8MR, S2k, Tl, Civic.. so im new to the whole TPMS stuff. been reading that some people band the sensors inside the wheels.. but im unsure exactly how.. im guessing my mount/balance guys might know since they do a lot of high end cars but figured id ask first. so if i bought a 07 manual on the oem 19's to use the TPMS on my New 20's i would need to do what? ive driven rims as long as i can remember and i notice when air is low but hell if i have the possibility of knowing on a late night when i feel the car feels off w/o having to get out of car then its well worth it. please guide me in the right direction. i searched about 5 times and only found other people asking and really poor answers thank you in advance riley |
btw the wheels are going to be 20" Work Euroline.
already have the tein SDF+EDFC, bride vios, buddy club rails, 245/35F 285/30R BFG kdw2 Spc rear camber kit, and my appt for tint lined up. like i said im not new to the modding stuff, just new to the G and TPMS |
you band them using the same type band as the intake tube uses at the throttle body. when you mount the tires, they have to be careful not to damage the sensors. there are some wheels that work with TPS, but you'd have to ask the vendor.

the metal banding that uses the screw to hold it firm/tight. makes sense im guessing the oem 19's dont use a band then so i would have to find some bands for 20" wheels.. so theyd have to be around 70" long each..
thanx for the help. anyone else can help me find the bands and where to locate them? thank you in advance. |
