Staggared tires questions - G35 19's

Why are the front tires thinner then the rear.

225/40-19: Front
245/40-19: Rear

Would it be okay to put the same size tires in the front?

245/40-19 Front/Rear?

1) Becasuse rears are wider
2) Possible? Yes. Okay? Up to you

Tire Size......!

Who know why Nissan does some of the crazy things they do. 245's will
work fine front and rear......I never liked the idea of running those smaller
tires on the front.

Beats me but I think it gives a more aggressive appearance. I have 245 front and 275 rear.

The wheels are the same width so they'll fit no problem.

VVV that's a good point. I was only thinking of width on the wheel. I'm tired. Don't mind me.

There's a good chance that you'll have problems with your VDC due to increasing the overall diameter of your front tires by soo much(about 8/10 of an inch) and not changing the rears.... and there's also a chance that the size you mentioned might rub when you turn your wheels all the way since it's almost an inch taller and also 20 MM wider. On top of that, you would also sacrifice a decent amount in stability due to the extra sidewall and flex. If you want to go with a wider tire up front, you should probably do a 245/35/19 if anyone makes them in that size.

I just dealt with a similar thing on my car... I bumped my front tire size up from 225/45/18 to 245/40/18, and stuck with the OEM rear tire size of 245/45/18. I would have liked to have gone with 255's in the rear, but didn't want to deal with potential VDC issues that might result... particularly in the rears, since the rears are the ones that are already significantly larger than the fronts when in stock form.

See if you can find some 245/35/19's for the front, or maybe 235/40/19's... but don't go to 245/40/19 up there.
