20's tire size.. Chime in

Ok i just realize that when i bought my 20's gtc they told me 245/35/20 and 275/30/20 but people are not runnign 35 up front... so what are the proper size.. i changed it to 255/35/20 front and 275/30/20 rear like a year ago and it is almost time to get new tires i just want to get the right size.

im runnung 255/30 and 275/30. the best matches are 245/30 255/30 and 275/30 285/30 with 245/30 and 285/30 being the closest

According to this calculator:

Tire Size Calculator

The closest sizes are 255/30/20 up front and 285/30/20 out back, assuming you have wide enough rear rims.

My question is, can you fit 255's up front without any rubbing?! I have an 05 coupe 6MT Sport.

That would depend on width/offset, but it should fit with most setups

What is the width / offest range on the front rims where 255's isn't an issue? I'm assuming either an 8.5 or 9" width and normal 25ish offset?

redlude97 Dec 18, 2007 07:41 PM

it varies depending on camber settings, but I would say anywhere up to 9.5+17 should work with 255's

up front i have +32 9.5 width with 255/35 no problem. rear are +22 275/30 with a 10.5 rear can't go bigger because i will rub but with this size i am good!

wth did they tell me 245 35 up front? this kinda pisses me off

proper size

proper size is def 255/30 and 285/30 but every place will tell you the standard 245/35 and 275/30 cause they dont give siht about you, your car, or rims.

i argued with every place and they just tell me they have done 5 dozen cars....blah blah blah......thus making them bigger idiots......but i believe the real reason is cause these tires cost a little more and they are trying to save a buck.
