Getting Some VS-XX's - Offset and Tire Q's

So I've decided to get me some VS-XX's on my OB coupe. I've done plenty of researching and now I'm unsure as to

what offset I should get. The rims will be 19x9.5/19x10.5. I'm looking for some agressive offsets with ultra lippage, but

nothing TOO crazy. I like Calvin's (ahero) wheels, but he won't give up the specs. :p Maybe something like +17 in the front and +20

in the back? Is the rear offset supposed to be higher or lower than the front offset on our cars? So if any of you tech guys

can point me in the right direction as far as some agressive offsets go, I will truly appreciate it. The lips I plan to go for

are around 3" in the front and 4" in the back, and I will roll my fenders because I want agressive. I'll also take care of camber.

Also, I'm planning to drop it on some 350z S-techs. Will that affect the offsets in any way? Another thing, I'll most

likely run 245's in the front and 275's in the back. What's the preferred profile number for my situation? 30s, 35s? Thanks in advance to anyone

who chips in and sorry for the lengthy writing. :)

Check the Work offset file.

You'll want to run 35 series tires in the front and rear.

BTW - I've already said, I'm running +24 front and rear with custom center disks. You won't find my setup on the Work offset file.

^ Hmm I must've missed it when you gave up the specs... :dunno:. And thanks for the offset file but I don't know

what I'm looking at there. :o

Honestly, 3" lip up front is too big. It takes away from the rear 4" lip. I would say go with a max of about 2.5" front lip. That way, the rear lip would appear a bit bigger.

Yeah I thought about it too after I looked at the ruler. 3" is a lot more than I thought for the front. But I'll have to ask the vendors

here what offsets to achieve those lip sizes, but I was wondering what the G community thought.

19x9.5 +28(R) & 19x10.5 +29(O) is the most common setup for VS-XX's. With this you will achieve the smaller lip up front and larger lip in the rear, which will make the staggered setup more apparent and aggressive.

Hey Cal about that custom center disk..... if I were to get +24 for both front and rear it would give me different lip sizes than yours?

Think about what you just asked.

LOL im stumped. :dunno: So a custom center disk does affect lip size, not only its clearance for the brakes?

What center disk & offset you get will ultimately dictate the sizes of your lips and clearance for your brakes.

Talk to the wheel vendors and tell them what you want. They'll set up a good long ~3+ month wait for you if you want custom wheels. :thewave:

Oh I see, thanks. With the recommended offsets you gave me what lip sizes would that give me? Or could you tell me how to read

the offset list you gave me so I can see all the combinations I could do for 2.5" F lip and 4" R lip.

Just saw your edit. I don't mind waiting, but I'll see what I can work out with them. ;) Now onto the other portion of my original post...

will the drop with Z s-techs affect the offset in any way?

I'm going to bed. Long day.

A drop will not affect your offsets physically. However, a drop without a proper alignment will cause you to have negative camber and in turn make your wheels tucked.

^thanks, me too.... my eyes have to rest (lasik), but I'll be back for some more question whoring tomorrow. :p

go low teens as far as offset's if you are willing to roll fenders 245/35&275/35 will fit depending on your camber and height, this is a somewhat aggressive setup.

i'm currently running 19x9.5 +28 front with the bbk disk and 19x10.5 +17 rear with the deep dish disk

front lip is 2.4 inches and rear lip is 4.4 inches
tires are toyo t1r 255/35/19 front and 285/35/19 rear but switching to 275/35/19 for more clearence to lower my rear more

+19 also works for the front and would give you a 3.25 lip according to chris @ f1

my rear fenders were cut to the max

there are some people doing 19x11 in the rear but i don't know what offsets they are running

def give f1 or status a call for more info

i hope this helps
