will going from 18's to 19's raise the actual height of my car all around?
I am curous about this. Was wondering if i would get more clearance by going from 18's to 19's?
I am dropped on tein s-techs with ings+1 all around. and its close to impossible to fit the stock jack under my car to jack it up, even if i drive over some blocks of wood. So i am wondering if i get 19's will it give me extra clearance all the way around? |
Changing rims won't do any difference, Changing the overall diameter of the tire you mount on those rims will...
What size are the tires you already have vs the size of the tires you intend on installing on the 19's. You can also input the data on this site for comparison. http://www.1000rims.com/rt_specs.jsp...5&text1=&text2 |
i believe my stock tires are 225/45R18 for the front and 245/45R18 for the rear
what would be the equivalent of that if i were to get 19's with tires? 35 front and 35 rear with 19's will be the same exact size as my 18" setup that i have now? |

Michelin pilot sport tires, 225/45 r18 = 25.8" overall diameter, 245/45 r18 = 26.8" overall diameter... Now when shopping for new tires, just make sure the new ones are the same overall diameter as these measurements and there shouldn't be any problems...
Just go to TIRERACK.com and chose your tire sizes, pick your tire, and then go to "SPECS" to find out their overall size. Just to do some of the work for you, tire rack lists the dunlop sp sportmaxx tire 245/35 r19 as 25.8" and the 275/40 r19 as 26.7". Don't hold it to me, but that should be in the ballpark... |
