Widest tires on stock Ray 19's????

So stock rays are 225/40r19 & 245/40r19...does anyone know if 245/35r19 & 275/35/r19 will fit on stock rays...I was told by a couple people that they would..now the shop i had sent to say they wont..does anyone know for sure?

I would just stick to factory tire sizes. 275 is pretty wide for the rear and I'm sure you could find a shop to mount them up, but it is not recommended.

So what is the reason for this?

I realize that now after a bunch of searching. It seems 255's would be best for the rear.. I ordered these based on what others said would work..wanted wider for handling & to properly grip turbo system on the way.

I have 245/35s up front and 255/35s rear with no issues didn't want to test my luck with anything more in the rear

I ended up calling tire rack & they're shipping out 2 255/35r19's to trade for 275's...So I'll have now 245/35r19 & 255/35r19...hopefully that'll give a decent ride, considering turbo on the way.
Any GOOD idea's on wheel lock socket? The shop my car is at says their tool will break studs most likely, to try to locate the correct socket instead...will VIN # help? Who is the manufacturer of lock lugs?

I'm assuming you have 19x8.5 on all 4, right? I thought 245 was too wide on the 19x8 rim. I've been looking for two 19x8.5 for the front, so I can go wider than 225.

255s with a turbo, you will have have traction like a bull on ice. :icon17:

I'm running 235/35's up front on OEM rays. Look & ride great plus they are smaller in overall diameter than both 225/40 & 245/35 which means more of a drop...every little bit helps!

06 DG Coupe w/ Rays - Front: 235/35/19 V12's w/ 25mm B2AUTO spacer. Rear: 255/35/19 V12's with 25mm B2AUTO spacer. Lowered on Z s-tech's. No problems what so ever... :)

I wish there was a thread for this already.... hmmmm..

Plus if you go turbo (lol since everyone says they will and then end up doing it) you'd be silly to run it on stock rims

245's will fit fine.

OEM Rays will not work with a turbo unless you hate traction. Curious, are you looking at a Turbonetics/Ebay kit???

245 fit fine on the 19x8 rim? I did not know that.

I'm confused. What does a turbo have to do with the width of the tire on factory 19" wheels?

All you guys running 35 series, doesn't the car ride like crap? I bet you feel everything on the road and I would fear curb-age. I live in pot hole city in the great Louisville, KY area and I feel everything on 40 series.
