New Tires/Rims for 03 Brembo Coupe...
So about six months or so ago I purchased a 03 G35 coupe 6 speed manual with the Brembos with 80k miles. Besides fixing the passenger side window motor on day one the car is pretty sound. Car came with stock 18 inchers that were plastidipped. I will need tires at least for the rear in the next six months or so. So I have been looking for sales and happened to see one that ends soon for tires and rims and would jump on this if it can work.
My goals are new tires squared all the way around for the ability to rotate. The current deal running is 75 off through a rebate for tires and 100 dollars off for wheels with free shipping and free mounting and balancing. I was thinking about going with one of these wheels if I can be fairly certain they would fit over the Brembos. The prices after free shipping and rebates seem too good not to try to jump on. 1. 18x9 +28 https://www.discounttiredirect.com/b...-dr-49/p/55979 2. 18x9 +20 https://www.discounttiredirect.com/b...-dr-49/p/55977 3. 18x9 +22 https://www.discounttiredirect.com/b...rsteer/p/74711 So opinions on whether I would have issues getting these to fit over the Brembos and If I could run say 245/45/18 on all 4 corners without issues so I could rotate at will. Opinions asap. Thanks |
What’s the stock tire size?
Rotating tires isn’t necessary with a proper alignment :). They should wear out pretty even on this car. |

Well the car is at stock height, with stock suspension at currently stock wheel tire sizes which means is one the stock 18x8 front and back with 225/45/18 front 245/45/18 rear.
Opinions on whether any of those three wheels with their listed offsets and spoke designs fit over the brembos and can I run a square 245/45/18 all round without issues?? |
I'm sure folks have run non-staggered rear size on all 4 corners but it looks goofy imo on a stock suspension.
I typically wear out my rear tires first but it has nothing to do with alignment :D |
So no opinion on whether any of those 3 wheels listed will fit over the brembos with those listed offsets?

Those are brands not popular here so your best bet is to contact Discount directly to confirm.

I used to make templates from a piece of cardboard for the outer diameter of the TIRE, lift the corner of the vehicle, remove the tire, "install" your cardboard template (cut out room for the caliper) and literally just use a tape measure. Just convert your +/- offset into a measurement from the back/front of the cardboard. It's very accurate this way, if you need inside diameter clearance specs for your rotors then just ask the seller for the inside template dimensions or contact the specific manufacturer in question and ask for dimensions.
Remember these sellers do this for a living and it's a common question. |
