Anyone running 235/40/18 and 255/40/18's?

Im planning out my next set of wheels/tires for next year.

I think im going to get me a set of lightweight 18x9 wheels and try
below config. If anyone's running this size, please let me know how
you like it and also any picts if you have them.

235/40/18 S03's
255/40/18 S03's

The goal for this set is not for bling, but for performance. I want to
get a little better turn-in response than the factory 18's and a
firmer ride, plus reducing the weight and overall diameter to improve
acceleration and braking (I might consider the GS-D3's as S03's are
heavy tires). The factory Pilot A/S are great for the cold
season, but too slim for my setup when I really want to open her up
in the summer time.

Offset I have in mind are +17 front, +27 rear. I may use +29 if
I decide to go with 18x10's on the rear and possibly run 265/40
size (Pilot summers).

I am running 255/40 18 on a 9.5 and a 10.5 rim right now.

BF Goodrich KDW 2's.

Offsets are +15 and +18.

Works decent in autocross events. Still breaking them in.

XLR8SN- nice... do you have picts of your car by any chance? :)

I have 235/40/18 and 265/35/18, the R-compounds that I mentioned in the other subforum. the gap is kinda ugly because the car isnt lowered. you could probably guestimate what 255/40/18 would look like.

636Racer- thanks for the pict.

sidewalls...
265/35 = 92.8mm
255/40 = 102.0mm

yeh, Im visualizing in my head 10mm more sidewall than the 265/35.
not bad. my car's lowered so the gap should be very minimal if at all.

any picts from the rear by any chance?

After I get all of my suspension redone, I am also looking to get a set of lightweight 18's (for a sedan, though).

I have my sight set on a set of Volk CE28n. I think they would look stunning on your car as well...

as soon as I get home from work, I'll take a better picture of the rear.

I appreciate it, 636Racer.

vodkarocket- yeh, im also thinking CE28N, TE37, or the Wed TS0005 (?).

but if i can find factory 18's for cheap locally i might just use that...
will see.
