20's with Eibach's Camber issue
Am I the only here who thinks that our car cambers to much, especially in the rear? It kind of bugging me no. I had a friend of miine drive down the road with m car and rear camber was pretty instense. I guess it time to by stillens camber bar for the rear soon.

Re: 20's with Eibach's Camber issue
yes there's a lot of camber in the rear. I'm noticing a lot of uneven tire wear at 10k too. Does anyone know if nissan put that much camber on purpose? It looks way more then 2degrees.

Re: 20's with Eibach's Camber issue
infiniti did put a bit more aggressive camber on our car, but since our cars are lowered now, it is almost imposible to bring it back to spec.

infiniti did put a bit more aggressive camber on our car, but since our cars are lowered now, it is almost imposible to bring it back to spec.

This is the problem with lowering your car. You screw up the suspension geometry for the sake of looking like a race car, and you can potentially make the handling worse than stoock. Low profile tires makes this an even greater problem. You really need to decamber your car a bit. Stillen does make an adjustable camber piece for the rear. You NEED these. For the front, you need to get struts or coilovers that have adjustable pillowballs. If you've already bought struts or lowering springs that don't add a camber adjustment, then all I can say is that you've gone down the wrong road in my opinion, and you will pay the price in terms of outrageously bad tire wear and worse than stock handling. To my knowledge, no one makes an adjustable pillowball to fit the stock strut, (yet.) Keep in mind that ideal camber setting for race track purposes will be approximately equal to the roll angle of the car at maximum cornering level. But anything more than about -1.5 degrees on the street is a real pain in the neck, both in terms of tire wear, and tendency of the car to follow pavement ridges, grouves, etc. 04 G35 6MTS Aero Kit/Nav/Prem/Wint (Hopefully Sept 03) Warning: Objects in Mirror Are Losing! |
Re: 20's with Eibach's Camber issue
I've been through it all.
If your going to lower a car, just buying lowering springs is a bad idea. The shocks will go out quickly and leave you with a magic carpet ride. full coilover kits (matching shock and spring) and camber kit is always the best way to go. Each component is equally important. RacerX is right about the adjustable pillow ball mount. There doesn't seem to be one for the G35coupe yet. It seems to be because the hole for the suspension is too small. If you want to do some surgery and shave the opening, I'm sure you can then put in an adjustable pillow ball mount. I'm thinking of doing that because I've been there, done that, don't want to spend a lot on tires again. BS G35C 6spd navi/aero/prem |
Re: 20's with Eibach's Camber issue
I just put 19's on the car. I notice a big camber difference in the rear. The front does not seem so bad, but maybe it is just not as noticeable.
I want to lower it, but I may not. My question now is: How much will the camber kit fix the rear? |
Re: 20's with Eibach's Camber issue
doesn't the HKS hypermax LS coilovers enable you to adjust your front and rear camber?

thanks for the info calipnoy. Aren't you from the bay?
Damn a whole month of tire wear before I get the allignment correct. I wonder how much wear on brand new 20" tires I'm going to get before the new supension settles. BS G35C 6spd navi/aero/prem |
