Greetings..... I am new to the site so bear with me as I famialrize myself with proper G35 etiquete. I recently purchased SSR GT3's for my sedan. I ordered through the tirerack and used their recomendation for rim size. They are 19x8.5 front and 19x10 on the rear. There optional size recomendation for tires was 225/40-19 for the front and 255/35-19 rear. However, they showed Michelin Pilot Sports as the only tire available in these sizes for this rim and car. Therefore, I went to a local dealer in Dublin, CA (Wheel Works) and they helped me to review my options. In the process they spoke with The Tire Rack via phone and asked about other setups I might use. The Tire Rack told them I could go with a setup of Bridgestone PO-3 245/40ZR19 front, and 275/35ZR19 rear. The fronts are great with no noticeable problems, yet. The back however tends to rub when hitting severe bumps, highway depressions, or extra weight in the back of car. My question, what options do I have to increase my clearance or tighten my springs/shocks? I really like the wider rear tire and it's aggressive look. Can I roll the fender and get the clearance? Will this alter any structural integrity of the fender wall? Would air shocks result in a noticeably rougher ride? Is there a tighter spring I can buy? Punt and go back to 255's? I should note that the 19x10 rim looks like it is really pushing the envelope on width though. I have included a photo that might help visualize the problem?

Roll your fenders. I just got mine rolled. They did a professional job at Vision Autosports.. Cost me $60.00 for the rear fenders. Mine would rub on the rear also on severe bumps. Just get it rolled and you'll never have to worry about it again. PM me if you need their info.

You should've gone with 265-30-19. The first G ever lowered was one by one of the Sales People at Pro Motion Distributions. He was prototyped Springs by Sprint. After calculations The 265 were the widest you could go on 10" without rubbing on the Sedan......

Did the calculations consider rolling the fender or was it based on stock fender setup? I am not oppoesed to some minor mods to get the fit I want, however, if I am wasting my time trying to fit 275's, I can still see about recovering some costs to replace with 265's. If I go with 265's can I use an Eibach pro kit, or am I still pushing the envelope?

Cali,
Try Rollin the Fender first. That's the Cheapest and easiest solution first. If you get Lowering springs it will rub more. The set up on the Black PRO MO G-35 is 19x8.5 and 19x10 Maya STU with 245-35-19 front 265-30-19 rear His Prototype springs are much Lower than The production Springs from sprint. Production- 1.75" drop Prototype 2.25-2.5" drop Yet Absolutly NO RUBBING. Hopes this helps.

Sorry, I've been traveling back east. I have +41 offset on the SSR's. I spoke with the Tire Rack and they say this is correct. I spoke with several body shops and they aren't sure the fender roll will give me the clearance I need. I need to find out if a different offset would work better. It appears that the rear wheel has at least 1 inch of additional clearance available on the back side. Therefore, I should be able to get a different offset and make it work. Any thoughts?

The body shop I spoke to said if they rolled the fender they might crack the paint and then have to do the whole quarter panel, $400-500 each side.

Does anyone know where Vision Motorsports is? Any other places in SF area that does this kind of work?

its lookin like you got the wrong offset, that 41 may work for a 9.5, but not a 10. the wheel is supposed to tuck behind the fender when the suspension is compressed, it looks like its going to be flush with it.

I had the fenders rolled on Tuesday and so far have not had anymore problems. I have hit some pretty hefty depressions on the freeway at around 90-95 MPH with no rubbing. Hopefully this will end any problems I've had in the past.
