Help with Michelin PS2 fitting on OEM 18's
 

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

I am in the market for new tires for my 18 OEM wheels which are currently on The Pilot Sports, and I have heard nothing but rave reviews about the PS2's. However, looking on tire rack, they don't carry any of the sizes for the front or the rear (225/45 F, 245/45 R). I would like any input on this potential setup: 245/40 for the front making it 0.7 inches wider and 0.2 inches shorter, and 265/40 for the rear resulting in 0.8 inches wider and 0.4 inches shorter in diameter. Would this fit my OEM wheels? I am more worried about the rears as they would be 20mm wider, and the overall weight of the tires, which I can't seem to find anywhere.

For safety purposes you always use a tire with a load index that is equal to or higher than the oem fitment. A higher load index number will provide increase tire life and a lower slip angle vs load [better slalom G] roughly equal to half the percentage of the increase [1521 > 1640= 7.8% say 3-4% improvement].............the above only applies to the same model and brand tire.

Going weaker just over heats the tires faster and wears them out.

I found that the OEM Pilot Sports are 91W front and 96W rear. The PS2 that I would like to fit are 93Y front and 101Y rear. Since these load index numbers are higher than the OEM's... would this be alright?

PS2's are amazing, you will def love them. i will go with nothing else on my car

That setup will work fine, but I personally wouldn't go with more than 255 in the rear. Not gonna need all that extra traction and you are wasting money.
