What the ghey? I'm beginning to wonder if Infiniti choosing to launch their entire line with the 3.7L VVEL motor has more to do with making sure their cars are Euro 5 Emissions compliant. Perhaps production is not yet ramped up enough to introduce the motor across the board in the US?

Or maybe Infiniti just flat out felt like being stingy when it came to its American buyers. Or maybe they figured most Americans would be too cheap to pay for additional hp (which to be fair is true in many cases). Or perhaps they want to keep the motor exclusive to the G37 and the upcoming 370Z until they have something more powerful to shove under the hoods of those cars before introducing the motor into the lighter G Sedan as well as the EX and FX?
Whatever the reason, I still say Infiniti should have introduced the US market '09 FX with the 3.7L motor rather than choosing to wait a year or two. After seeing that the European market would be getting a G37 Sedan and an EX37 when the brand launches there this fall/winter, I had assumed that we would be receiving the 3.7L motor here as well in both the '09 G Sedan and the '09 EX. Which is why I was surprised when the '09 FX was announced with the 3.5L HR instead of the 3.7L. With the news that Infiniti will be launching an FX37 in Europe, I've become even more convinced that we won't get the 3.7L here in the Sedan or the EX or FX until 2010, possibly 2011.
Apparently, the 37 will also be available with the FX50's standard 21" wheels as an option. Something we again don't get here in the US. The 37 gets 20" wheels as standard equipment with the 21s as an option while the US market '09 FX35 comes standard with 18s with 20s available as an option The 21" wheels are an FX50 exclusive item here in the States. Weak sauce.
