3M LCD Screen Protection Film
#2
Great product, Terry. I used latex gloves during the install to avoid leaving fingerprints on both surfaces, and a credit card and some gentle rubbing worked well to remove those trapped air bubbles.
I performed the installation with removal of the LCD bezel/housing/assembly, but seeing how the film is slightly smaller (or so it seemed?) than the LCD screen, perhaps it wasn't altogether necessary? It's undoubtedly easier to wipe off the dust/lint prior to application, but just thinking aloud...
As for day-to-day use, I definitely notice less glare, which is great when driving around with the California sun shining in from all around. I do still see some fingerprint residues (oils, etc) with the film installed, but they do appear to be less abundant.

Thanks for the write up prech.
The film is indeed slightly smaller than the LCD "frame" itself, but bigger than the bezel opening. I did not want to see the edge line of the film on the LCD so by design, there is no way to get it in there easily without removing the bezel.
Also ... the anti-glare film is meant to protect the LCD, so finger prints and oil will eventually show up on it just as it would on the LCD screen itself ... BUT ... you can wipe it off with just about anything you want even a paper towel and window cleaner, without fear of swirl marks.
I use the LCD soft buttons whenever possible now.

The 3M material is meant to be used on resistive type screens so you would have to check on what technology the Kenwood uses. The 3M Vikuiti material WILL NOT work on capacitive touch screens such as those used on iPods and iPhones.
If anyone else wants a custom size, please send me a PM. I'd be happy to work with you. I have a shop do the precision cuts on a cutter with digital encoders for accuracy.

Yes. I can have them cut to what ever size you need.
For the V36 sedan and coupe, I designed them to go UNDER the bezel because it is very easy to take the LCD out. I don't know how easy it is to take the screen out on the 07 coupe. If it is too diffucult, I can cut them for installation INSIDE the bezel so you don't have to pull the LCD screen out.
