Front suspension/alignment/rack & pinion

2003 g35 sedan. I recently replaced my lower control arms. Now my steering does not correct itself and it steers farther to the left than the right. Also there is movement in my tie rod on the driver side and I'm able to move the wheel back and forth about an inch. I took it to get aligned and the mechanic said it's needs a new rack. It worked just fine before I changed the lower control arms. Is there someway to adjust the rack or the tie rod end.?? In need of some advice before I purchase parts..

Maybe the inner tie rod is bad.
