So this isn't my first rodeo when it comes to planning a group gathering/party/BBQ, however, since this is for a large group of people I don't know really well I would appreciate the planning portion to be a little more interactive then usual.

I am well known by my friends and co-workers for my baby back ribs. I typically cook for about 40 people on my birthday every year. I'm willing to do that for you guys if you would like. I need to know how many people to cook for and what your preference would be, ribs or we can do fajitas, both are fantastic and I'm sure most people would enjoy either. I don't necessarily have to be the fajita cooker either...I know there is one guy out there that can cook up some mean fajitas and I would not want to steal his thunder by any means!

With the meat item being the priciest, I would humbly ask that everyone chip in a little to cover the costs, something in the range of $5-$8 to cover meat. Especially if it's ribs, they are quite pricey.

BYOB on drinks, I'll provide some basic soft drinks and water though.

ACTIVITIES TO INCLUDE (but not limited to): Ultimate Frisbee, Football, Basketball (they have courts), Horseshoes, Volleyball, etc.
NOTE: sports equipment will need to be brought if you want to play, i.e. someone have a volleyball net?

I need some help getting the word out. Can someone who has an account with some of the other enthusiasts forums put the word out for me. I'll be posting the same thread on G35driver.com but I would appreciate some support with the Z forums and any other forum you may want to spread the word.

I'll probably have to work that day. But I'll try to get out there!!

 

This really sucks!!! This would have been my first meet and it sounds like it will be awesome and it would have been a 15 min drive from me (by the way I drive). Unfortunately I have tickets to UFC 103 at the AAC! Sucks! I would have loved to come and meet everyone.

 

This actually brings up a good idea (or at least to me it is)

I will be going somewhere to watch the fights that night, so maybe we can head over to a local sports bar and catch the fights after wards or we could move the time back a little?

The time doesn't really matter to me, I set it based on when ppl might get hungry and when it might not be as hot.

 

Well this is crazy, 3 people that live close(r) to Fort Worth can't make 9/19 and there were others that had said 9/12 won't work. Can't please all the people all the time

 

so the FW meet will have more people that live far away than live close...

I've invited Dan from Scarab Performance and Kyle and crew from PTP to come out and enjoy the festivities with us. I even invited Neil and Chris from Cobb, but doubt they'll drive all the way from Plano. Man that drive sucks!

 

i'll try and make it if the G is out of the shop by then and i'll bring fahGitas if i do go. i'll let you guys know closer to date. dont worry about pitching in on the meat either. btw, i thought ribs are cheap/er cause of the bone
