Is Hitachi a good brand for a fuel pump sending unit?

the oem is too expensive.

Hitachi is fine. Go to rockauto.com for a killer selection of parts, great prices and awesome customer service. It's my favorite online parts warehouse out there and should give you more than one choice to ponder.

Hitachi is the OEM manufacturer for a lot of electronics and sensors, so it's probably fine.
