In The Market

Hello G35ers!

Am in the market for a new (used) car, and have always liked the post 2007 G35 / G37 sedans. Am particularly interested in the AWD models as I live in Canada, eh, and I have a few questions:

- What are the main differences between the 2007 and 2008 G35x ?
- What are the major problem areas with those years that I should be aware of when looking at them?
- I have had very good luck with high mileage vehicles in the past - my current DD is a 1996 Saab 900S with 430,000 km on it (about 270,000 miles) - what should I be looking out for in a higher mileage 2007 or 2008 G35x, ie. 200,000km / 125,000 miles or more?
- How do repair / maintenance costs compare to other near-luxury "performance" sedans like the BMW 3-series, Volvo S60-R, or Lexus I-series?

Ok, that is all for now! Thank you very much!

This is a great automobile.....I am currently selling mine(trying to get my post count up!)😁 But in the almost 2 years I've owned it have not had any problems aside from replacing wear items and battery and the usual oil change....if I weren't going through a semi mid life crisis I would probably keep this car but I can't have 2 manuals in the home as my wife can't drive stick

I live in Ontario and drive an 07S daily. Just had to replace normal wear items so far, nothing else to report, other than addressing some rust on the trunk. There are a few spots in the wheel wells too I am going to be looking at this spring.

I will say tho given its a Nissan, the corrosion is worse than most, it might be a battle on a higher millage vehicle in Canada depending on where you live and the care the vehicle has had over the years. I would look at the body very closely before buying. Rust is costly to fix and control.

No issue at all (for my taste) in the winter as for traction. Only thing I really wish I had was the 6MT ... the auto is boring. In fact I will be looking for a 6MT G37S soon enough I think.
