Vote for the Best HFC for G35!
#46
Would be nice to include the post I had in the other thread before removing it, which is more specific than just "what is the best hfc for the G"....

No, I have the Tanabe Medalion axle back exhaust with the HR Y-pipe.
I just swapped the hr y-pipe out this morning with a Tanabe y-pipe and it got ride almost all the rasp.
Made a huge difference!
Yes, Berks are 200 cell (metallic substrate).
Berk used to offer 300 cell ceramic substrate, but I don't think they do any more.

Any sound clips? I have this setup on my Z and get significant rasp. I was thinking of swappint to Art pipes or XYZ pipe as a solution.
Curious how a clean sounding set up with Tanabe would sound like..

Helix HFC
I bought some Helix HFC for $200 and so far I like them way more then my stock cats but I wonder how come there aren't that many reviews on Helix HFC. I'm deciding whether or not to keep these Helix or go get me some Berks HFC...I think the Helix are 200 Cell just like the Berks.

no offense, but the poll is like voting for president based on popularity instead of platform...
The only opinions in the poll you should consider are those that have used more than one - and even then its flawed because no one has used them all.
So if everyone voted for XXX HFC, what does that do for you?
Edit - I didnt realize the thread topic was so old (dont know who bumped it, but whatever)... One good way to research any mod is to find articles or threads from multiple dynos (there are some dyno days that list different mods - but with the variables of combinations of mods its still hard to determine "best").

Yes^ I believe you do get the famous hissing sound when the rpm drops if you install HFC/test pipes and you probably will get rasp also at higher rpm if you install HFC/test pipe with stock exhaust. If you want less noise get HFC

I voted for FI, because that is what I have and have not encounter a single problem to include installation. Sounds great, no rasp, no CEL light and most importantly the craftmanship is amazing. Tony and his crew do awesome work. I also got FI exhaust. I have not check their site in a while, but if they make a long tube headers for g35 I will be jumping on that too. I think they have one for the G37.

With my Fast Intentions exhaust drone was there but it wasn't bad
1. I always drive in manual mode so I shift around it
2. The exotic sound of the exhaust is so amazing I always got compliments especially when I started up the car at gas stations, grocery stores ...church etc
You just feel like you're driving something special
