Maybe this is why!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi All,
I am not against anybody who is in business making a profit.
It is the whole point of doing it. What I am against is the massive mark up
we suffer from some local dealerships. We seem to be living in a very greed driven culture where a fair profit is not enough, it has to be squeezed to the maxtill every drop of blood has gone
I sorced some parts from Japan recently, window motor and a lock actuator,
£236 delivered, sounds fair enough. Thought I would contact my local Mr Nissan and give them the opportunity to quote. I expected it to be slightly more but happy to pay it for the convenience, WRONG.!!!!!!!!!!!
Let me see sir, window motor, yes we can do that, £351 +vat
Now then, the lock actuator we don,t have but they cost about £200
We can get you one though sir, we will have to order it from Japan.
yep, you guessed it, from excactly the source that quoted me originally

so, thats £551+vat ish as apposed to £236so maybe if these robbing bas!!!!s f!!!!!d off and sterted to treat people with some respect the country might not be in f!!!!!d up financial state it is now.
need to go and get some aspirin now, i suppose I will get ripped off for them as well

sorry for the rant, I am quite calm most of the time but enough is enough
cheers

I don't see simple product mark up as the biggest problem, but greed plays a role in all of it. There are tons of reasons why prices get marked up, overhead being the biggest reason. But it does get a bit too ridiculous, a bit too often...
