coupe sport suspension on sedan
coupe sport suspension on sedan
For those of you guys that have put the coupes springs and shocks on your sedan, what do you think, is it a fairly stock ridding car?. Is the drop around 1/2". I just purchased this set up from someone on this site can't wait to put it on. Any pointers on how to swap them out. I have lowered 2 cars previously so it shouldn't be a problem, but tips are always welcome. I have the eibach springs at my house, but I think this is the way to go.
The 05 Coupe regular springs are the same rate as the sedan sports. However, the 05 coupe sports are stiffer in the rear, I want to say 360 vs 440 - aproximately, and the same up front. Either coupe set will lower the car by 1/2 inch. My 05 sedan with 05 coupe sport is lower in the rear in the front. Go figure.
Soooo....
For the money, would anyone recommend going with the Coupe Sport Springs and Shocks if you have an 05 Sedan w/Sport?
If so, what's the cost for the Coupe Sport Springs and Shocks, approx?

I don't have the sport package on my sedan, the coupe springs and shocks are from the sport package
MYG35ZX, does it look weird having the back lower than the front? I assume that my car should look like yours.
05Gsedan, I paid $300 plus 50 for shipping, which I thought was reasonable.

Sorry man i'm a little confused. The second picture has the sedan sport springs? Did your car come with the sport package? My car did not come with the sport package that's why i'm asking. And what are D-specs, sorry for the questions. The second picture looks level which is what I want. I don't want my front sitting higher. Thanks
The first picture is the coupe sport suspension. The second is the original sedan sport suspension. Yes, the car sat level with the sedan springs. I mounted the coupe springs and the rear dropped more than the front. I have spacers to mount in the rear, or I thought of installing 350z front springs to lower the front further. D-specs are the shocks from Tokico. They are adjustable for rebound and compression. Fantastic for the money. Koni's work well too, just a tad more.

I have the 350Z OEM springs with D-Spec, they came out pretty level.
I love my Coupe springs. The coupe springs dropped .6" in the front and over .8" in the rear. I wish the fronts sat about .5" lower in the front, but it's no huge deal. When I'm in the car it sits .5" lower. The front gap is about 2 1/8" inch and rear gap is right at 1". Once I get the Aero bumper, it will make the front end look lower too. The ride is perfect and I think it's better riding than the OEM Sport springs. There's a silver G sedan that always parks next to me at work and it's clear my car is lower, especially in the rear. From a distance, it looks like the rear tires are almost tucked.
The reason the front gaps are bigger is because the fender wells are bigger. Why? Because the wheels need to turn even when the car is leaned over. Every car has bigger fender wells in the front than the rear. Lots of BMWs have their rear tires right at fender edge and the front gaps are around 2".

FWIW, I had the Eibachs & replaced them with the 350Z OEMs.
The Eibach drop usually ends up more then the spec'd 1.1"
It was more like 1.25" after it settled, for me.
