Group buy - THX-SS shift ****
Hey everyone, after some really positive feedback regarding a stainless steel shift **** designed by Clint (THX723) I am dying to throw one on my G! These look great inside the G and feel much more solid than the OEM ****, and are shorter = reduced throw. He has just run out and needs a group committed to ordering before ordering a production run - let's try to get at least a good 20-25 people on the list to make sure we make it worth his time.
Here is a thread with some pics and feedback: https://g35driver.com/forums/interior/72869-just-ordered-my-thx-ss-knob-can-t-wait.html.
**edit** $99 + s/h, sounds good to me!

I own this **** and would def rec it...if you want, Gator, I can start this over in the GB section as well and add names to it since it's in the INTERIOR section and probably won't see much play...

Come on.... shorter **** doesn't mean shorter throw. While the height of the shifter has been shortened, the length of the throws still stay the same unless you get a short shifter. If shortening the shifter meant shortening the throws, I would have cut the shifter to a minimum height. Just wanted to clear that up.

Anyone interested please jump over to this thread - it has the full list and updates on shipping dates, etc.

I don't wanna clutter up this thread, but reduced throw means the shifter itself has been modified to have shorter throw, hence the reason why there are short shifters that are same height as OEM, but have reduced throw by certain percentage. While you have shortened the height of the shifter itself, you didn't do anything about the length of the throws themselves. If what you're saying is reduced throw, then people should just grab at the lowest point of the shifter and shift that way, so they could have the shortest throw possible. But that is not the case... see what I'm saying?

As I said, mechanically there is no gain. Yes, you could do the same "shorter arm movement" by grabbing at the base of the shifter. That's not the main point of this - some of us like the looks, the feel of a heavier shif ****, and another small gain is we dont have to grab the base for that effect. I may be wrong, but I dont think anyone on the list is confused about it, we just maybe were a little too liberal in the description for some people.
Are you by any chance some kind of engineer? My brother gets soooooo caught up in the same kind of details!
Haha. I used to major in mechanical engineering before I switched over to business.
Well, I guess that might be the reason why I get caught up with some details like this.
Anyway, now I understand that we are on the same page, I'm staying out of this thread. Nice **** and good luck with the GB. I personally prefer taller **** so I won't be in a GB for this one, although the **** itself looks really nice.

I knew it! Nice switch, easy on the business guys - we only like to go into so much detail before calling in our engineers to argue in the weeds
If only I had recording of the arguments growing up with my brother - and normally we were saying the same damn thing. I knew it, just couldnt ever get him to see it if it wasnt in his exact words!
