07 Intelligent Key - Recall?

So I went to the dealer today and they said there is a known problem about cell phones and the intelligent key being too close together.

See the attached flyer they gave me.. and basically told me I am SOL until they get the new keys in. My seat randomly picks the seat memory 1 or 2.. and most often 2 when it is associated with 1.

I am having troubles attaching it says it is too large.. I will try to post later. Okay I resized it - if you want a better copy PM me your e-mail address and I will send you a better one.

I usually have my key in my left pocket, and my cellphone in my right -- or in the center cup holder. Never had any problems. I have a Sony Ericsson K750i.

My keys are associated with the seat memory, and I have never had any trouble.

I wonder what changes they made to this year key?
As far as I know the I-key worked on M and pre-97 G35 fine.

I'd like to add that I always have them together when I get home and throw them on my table. No problems whatsoever. I wonder if they'll let us keep our existing keys once they distribute the modified version later this year.

Just mailed me this:

Infiniti of Kirkland is passing this important information from Infiniti along to you.........

Important Informtion

The 2007 G35 Owners Manual advises not to place the Intelligent Key (I-Key) near electronic equipment such as tv, audio equipment and personal computers. Infiniti has received reports that some cell phones, when allowed to touch the I-Key when receiving or sending a call, may alter the electronic code contained in the I-Key. The I-Key will then not start the vehicle and the key cannot be reprogrammed.

Please do not allow your cell phone to touch your Intelligent Key.

Infiniti is developing a modified I-Key to prevent this from happening, and will provide you with these new keys, at no cost to you, in early fall 2007.

Until then, we advise you to keep your cell phone and I-Key at least 1 inch apart at all times. For example, do not carry your cell phone and I-Key in the same pocket of your clothes, do not place the I-Key and your cell phone together on a table or in the cup holder of your vehicle. If you put both your cell phone and I-Key in a purse, we recommend that you place them in separate pockets or compartments of the purse with at least 1 inch between the I-Key and your cell phone. If you experience an incident with one of your I-Keys, the second I-Key may be used to start your vehicle.

If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact an Infiniti representative at 1-800-662-6200.

Thanks for the posting .... seems quite interesting.

Its scary that something simple like this would mess up the iKey (given all the crap about FCC certification that devices would tolerate harmful interference and would not cause such interference !!!)
