Auto A/C question

Auto A/C question
Hey all - got a question on using 'Auto A/C' in the G. I've owned my G for 2 months now, and in that time, Auto A/C only blows out of the upper vents. Maybe it has to do with the warmer climes of North Carolina. However, I'm curious if anyone else's Auto A/C directs air to both the upper and lower vents.

Re: Auto A/C question
it directs air out of both vents as the temp in the car gets just below the temp you have it set at. it blows out the floor vents only when the temp in the car is a lot lower than you have it set at.
try running your temp up to 85 or 90 degrees for a few minutes. you should see it change by itself.

Re: Auto A/C question
Yeah, I noticed the same when mine was new. In summer,
it blows from the upper vents. Come winter, the lower vents
open up. It is too damn smart!

Re: Auto A/C question
Test the flapper by hitting the mode button to redirect the air out of the foot vents. At least you'll know if the system has the ability to redirect the airflow, if it doesn't then at least you'll know that something is wrong.

Re: Auto A/C question
Yes, it works fine in manual mode. Just wasn't sure if a sensor for the auto mode is not working, or if that's just the way it is with auto mode in the hotter months of the year. Guess we'll find out over the next month or two if it's (a minor) problem.

Re: Auto A/C question
I agree that the manual mode works fine, however, the auto mode leaves a lot to be desired compared to Acura CLs I used to drive. The auto mode in the Acura works much better. You can feel the air comes out of different vents regardless of the temperature, and also the manual control has about 10 speeds instead the 5 in my G. Besides the AC, the G is a much better car.
