any good sources to where to go other than dealer?

With the premium pkg, there are 3 buttons at the bottom of the auto-tinting rear view mirror.

The Homelink mirrors are made by Gentex. If you look at them, they are the exact same mirrors used in the G35 premium package.

I think they are around $250. I'm not sure how you would wire it up though. If you order one, post how you wire it up.

I have seen it in other forums. They get the juice by tapping into the map light.

That's good news. Then you don't need to route wires all the way around your windshield, just a straight shot to the map lights.

yeah, it seems to be a simple wiring job...one ground, one power.

Re: anyone add homelink aftermarket?

There's a much easier/cheaper way. Get a Homelink system from Ebay or salvage yard that fits in the flip down sunvisor (3 button style-like the older Maxima's have). I got a grey one that nearly matches my willow interior. I put it in the headliner and tapped power froom the courtesy light/sunroof area. Install took maybe 20 minutes and cost about $15 for the Homelink. Wish I had a pic sorry, but it looks good. Make sure you get the right Homelink (one supports rolling codes, one doesn't) depending upon the type of garage door opener you have.

Wow, that is a really cheap alternative. I will try that for my Honda. Thanks!

Horrible pic taken with crappy camera on my Treo but you get the idea. Positioned on headliner between sunroof and sun visor on that flat panel. I didn't want to disassemble and run wires into the sun visor where the Homelink is intended to go. However, you can put it almost anywhere since the actual module is very thin.

Re: anyone add homelink aftermarket?

I was checking Ebay but the only ones for sale currently are grey, not beige (to match my honda's interior)

Did you make a cutout in the headliner to fit the homelink module?

Re: anyone add homelink aftermarket?

I bought the room mirror /w homelink on ebay. It cost $38 for me. I need to buy harness for this mirror so I went to Infiniti dealer. Guess what? They told me that Infiniti does not sell room mirror harness alone so I need to buy whole body harness which is $1000. Anyway, I bought 350z harness from local Nissan dealer, and I paid $68.
There are 3 wires you need to connect. 2 power wires one for auto dimming, the other is homelink and gorund wire. I connect those wires to the dome light wires. It works great!

Re: anyone add homelink aftermarket?

why do you call it a 'room' mirror? is that shorthand for rear view?
