Why??

I have had both and honestly am satisfied with both. I wanted my OEM clears black, so I tried to bake them like you do with headlights so I could paint them....

Didnt work out to well. I still wanted black ones so I got some on ebay. Didnt pay alot and I am satisfied with the look. I don't know how much I should be satisfied with the performance since all it does is blink when I turn left or right. It has rained and I have washed my car a few times. No probs. The only fitment issues I had were the tabs used to secure the lights. I had to bend the metal piece back a little so they would go in the hole. They didnt slide in and out easily like the OEM ones.

I think sometimes people take this ebay vs "quality" argument too far. Sure if you are talking turbo kits or even projectors. But sidemarkers......

Were the ones you bought also have a weird picture (like the ones in the ebay page i linked look like glass). And did it look exactly like JDM clears?

Well if u have the smoked/blacked out ones that's a whole different story, it doesn't matter how the lens is. But if u have the clear ones and are able to see the bulb/bulbs during the day thru the lens, it just looks tacky imo

My sidemarkers have never produced a solid light in ANY car I have ever driven. They "blink" when I put my "blinker" on. Unless I am an idiot or just misunderstanding what you are implying...

The side markers on a G35 don't blink unless u do the blinker mod from the DIY section, which involves stripping and splicing of a wire from each side marker to the headlight wire harness

ohh.....I guess the previous owner did that.....mine blink. The only thing I have done to them is use LED's instead of the standard orange bulbs.

I thought I was an idiot, so I just went to my car to double check...LOL

What brand is on the OEM clears? My ebay ones aren't smoked. Just the back is black. The lens is still clear so I can see the LED. I thought it was a tad bit tacky. I can't remember if I could see them on my old ones.....

I modded mine to blink too... I originally got some leds to mod those ebay style clear corners but I didn't like them so I modded my stock amber ones instead

Nice. I bought the $15 ones I actually posted in the OP. They're pretty good.
