Hidden Hitch Assembly G35

Custom hidden hitch assembly for bumper attachment. Very good condition, constructed for '03 coupe, could fit sedans, as well as 350Z and likely current model G37s.

This is a clam shell attachment to the bumper with a vertical hitch receiver. The hitch inserts vertically, with the ball extended well beyond rear bumper. Entire assembly is powder coated black. Designed to tow a small tire trailer with up to 800 LB load. Typical trailer can be found here.
Assembly includes;
  • "Clam Shell" bumper component fabricated of 3/16" steel plate, with vertical receiver welded to one side, and holes drilled for bolts (bolts, washers & Nylock nuts included).
  • Right angle reinforced hitch insert with 1-7/8" chrome ball
  • (new) Car-to-Trailer wiring kit w/ Opto-Isolated relay.

This assembly is available to ship in a week or sooner (in storage) fro Charlotte NC, the price INCLUDES UPS Ground service to any of the lower 48 states.

Please note: it is essential that you reinforce the cars bumper supports to handle the loading of the trailer. The bumper supports on the cars are made to crush, not tow. When you have the rear bumper cover off of the car, the bumper and supports are easy to remove, and the supports can be 'boxed in' (4 small plates welded on each side), wire brushed, painted & re-installed (powder coated mine when we fabricated the hitch assembly). If you do not do this, then towing the trailer at 55+ MPH will for sure eventually cause the bumper supports to crack from the vertical flex 'moments' placed upon the bumper.

System worked flawlessly on car with this precaution with some 6000 towing miles at 55+ MPH. Some notching of the rear bumper cover under the car is necessary, but cannot be detected unless you get under the car to view. You can find a couple of threads on this in the 350Z forums for sure. This construction is a bit heavier than you'll find there.

If you have a sincere interest please message and I'll pull from storage and send you pics [with dimensional info if you are considering for something other than '03-'07 G35 coupe - please advise].

Appreciate your interest and consideration.

I actually wrote this one off since I didnt think you or Bryan would make it but I think the wife really wants me out of the house that weekend...

Need to work out a few little things on car before then and I'll be running on the Nissan sport pads, engine has less than 3k miles, etc... but I dont want to miss it.

I'm going to sneak into CIN saturday and put a gun to Bobbys head. You going to be around?

Yes Settle is working grid for Tar Heel and I will be instructing. Neither our Z or G is ready, but Settle is threatening to track the Yaris! We've done this before, and if there is ever a graphic illustration of a turd with wheels, that would be it.
Me, I'm borrowing a Z06 for a few laps at VIR, and will bring it to CIN tomorrow for services and tech inspection . Probably in AM, so might see you there?
