If you have the original mounting bracket, it holds up well with a simple binder clip (I think the 1" wide ones)! I've been doing it for almost a year now, easy to remove, doesnt leave any marks (I take the plate off every time I get a car wash, just need to undo 1 screw on the license plate and it swivels away revealing the binder clip. I wrapped electrical tape around the parts of the stock license plate bracket that touch the car to further reduce chances of marks.

I didnt think my car came with one, then I found it underneath the space by the tire jack in the trunk.
