^it's VERY easy to disconnect the light.. look over your manual and it should tell u how.. u should remove it b4 getting it tinted from a shop.. bcuz they might cut out the shape of the 3rd brake light and it'll look FUGLY

well im just gettin around to disconnecting that light..... but i dont see it anywhere in the manual... can anybody tell me how? i get paranoid takin my car apart when i dont know ahead of time EXACTLY what im gonna be doin
thanks guys
Here is what I made for myself. Since I don't have the premium package I did not have rear deck speakers, so this idea might not work for you. It is some particle board, spray adhesive, and vinyl from a local interior shop. The material was basically given to me since it was all scraps.

Upon installing your aero package, the dealership should disconnect the third brake light for you. I removed this assembly almost 2 years ago when I had the rear spoiler installed. I wrapped a piece of 16 ga. anodized aluminum in a dark wool frabric, which matched the color of the rear deck, and covered the said hole.

that looks pretty nice....gj
i just did mine 5min ago. you just pull it up and it slips out then you disconnect the brake light. take one small clip off of the connector then push a piece on it down and the connector slips out. then put the third brake light back in place
They do sell the rear parcel shelf if you want to swap it out for a stock one. I was quoted $217.77 for one.
I was thinking about doing it but it seems expensive for that part. I think I may just try to recover the part with material instead. Just a little 3M spray adhesive and take a few minutes to cover it with material that matches pretty well and you'll never notice. Since I don't have tint I don't want to remove the light and leave the hole.
