The long piece on the left is the OEM ram intake duct,

it sit in the middle under the hood the Hood & take air in from the Grill,
the the air go through the duct toward right side & goes right into air box. Pretty much all the air that goes into the OE air box comes from this duct.

That's why so called "cooling plate" mod is actually a bad idea, because it blocks the big hole between Grill to the intake opening, unless doing FI while this duct is removed.

Believe it or not, the OEM intake duct is actually a Ram air intake.
