FS: Escort 8500 X50 Radar - Laser Detector
FS: Escort 8500 X50 Radar - Laser Detector
I'm selling my used Escort 8500 X50. It's one of the top rated radar/laser detectors on the market. This unit is in excellent condition, and I have everything that came with it. Check out the picture below. It still works perfectly and has saved my butt on several occassions. I just purchased new suction cups for it, and they've never been used. There's even an extra set included. For a better install in your G35, get yourself an Invisicord and Mike's Mount...
I'm asking $250.00 shipped. I can take either PayPal or certified funds for payment.

Thanks!

Why I'm selling - Did I mention that it has blue LEDS?
Since I'm a total gadget freak, I recently purchased a V1 to try out. The plan was to put the Escort in my wife's car and keep the V1 in mine. Her car is the family car, and so I drive it pretty often, too. Although it works great, my wife couldn't stand having any more noise in the car (we have six kids). She's kind of an anti-geek (she hates electronics... but luckily opposites attract), and she asked me to choose one and sell the other. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the unit. I've taken very good care of it.
I had a very difficult time deciding which one I wanted to keep, but I decided to keep the V1 because I like the arrows. From a detection standpoint, the 8500 does every bit as well as the V1. The 8500 I'm selling is the blue LED (more expensive) version. If I had to choose between the two on looks alone, the Escort would win every time. I also think the Escort gives better feedback as far as what band of radar is being used. It's easier to read at night and has better alert tones that make distinguishing between K and Ka band radar easier... IMHO.
I really hope this doesn't become a V1 vs. 8500 X50 thread. The answer I gave is an honest explanation of why I'm selling the Escort, and not an attempt to say which detector is better. They're BOTH great detectors! Just about every review available ranks them both in the top three. The Escort saved me on several occassions...

If you're planning on putting this in your G35, I highly recommend getting the Invisicord and Mike's Mount. PM Mike (mike3348), and he should be able to send you pics of what the 8500 looks like mounted. It's unbelievably clean...
