I've always liked the look of the OEM grille but it had such a shi**y finish and was always chipping. I followed another members lead and sanded the spars on the OEM to give it a brushed aluminum look. It removed the chrome plastic finish that was always chipping.

how about flat black with clear coat?

any fitment issues with Gialla?

can't decide whether to go Gialla or paint OEM flat black.

The Gialla was a perfect fit as you can see from the pics from the first post. The black OEm look is easy enough to do but I wanted something different and although it's subtle, the brushed aluminum look is better IMO.

^ I've seen a few OEM's painted to match but the problem is prepping the grille for paint so you don't end up with the same chipping and pitting issue. Then again, spray paint is cheap so you can always keep refinishing as needed. I just wish the supplier of the OEM grilles did a better job finishing the grille in the first place.

^ Tell me about it. Maybe the Gialla look is overplayed, not sure. I"ll hold on to it and I'm sure there will will be an LR local that wants it. I'll bring to every meet until it sells....lol
