Feeler; Custom A-piller speaker pods of your choice!
150$ shipped
Here is the scoop guys, i finally got my spare pair of a-pillars, what im doing is molding a set of speakers into them, a tweeter, and a 3" driver. i WILL be competing in SQ competition, so this isnt some goof off idea, its made to sound the best! but i am picky like you guys and dont want monstrous pillar pods.
SOOO.. I wanted to see the interest from other people in a set of pillars such as these. if i go forward with making these the style will be as a pop mold. in other words, will attatch to your factory pillar covers (will probably be needed to modified slightly)
so who has any imput on something like these? any preferences on shapes or sizes? my pref. would be to just be as clean and OEM looking as possible.. i will probably charge about 150 shipped for a pair of these. and i will be able to adjust for perticular speaker sizes.
shoot me some PMs or just lmk what you think about this idea, il be commencing the project for my own as soon as my spares come in the mail

Example Pics
these are Not G35's. i actually only know of one G35 with this sort of mod done off hand, and is a very respectable competitor in SQ Competition scene. BUT i chose not to use his car as an example for the reason of not liking the looks of his setup, which IS important to me.
sooo here are 2 examples of what they will resemble..
this pic is of a Honda Element with a 3.5" round speaker, paired with a tweeter in the A-pillars

this would be the finished pic of a Triton with a 3" speaker

i believe thats what G35MAN04 was asking about, yes im sure i could, but i think it might look a bit gawdy.. they would not go well together in the same peice..
making these parts in carbon fibre will cost much more.. i AM able to use carbon fibre, but it would be quite curvy and edgy to use c/f and look good. but if you want it, il do it! (it will be 2x2 twill. 4x4 will not flex accordingly with the pillars)

thats what i have had since 2003. bc of the heat though, the edges have started to warp/pull up around the stock piece. I'd definitely be interested in having a new set built similar to what I already have, maybe aimed a little different for better imaging. I have a spare set of a-pillars ready to go. 4" kicker component with a 1" tweet.
Let me know if you could build em.
Thanks!

i can see why you would want them to be redirected.. i would suggest using a different driver though.. 4" is a bit big for our small pillars.. which is probably why you designer put them on such an odd axis
they did it bc they were lazy. instead of using lazer pointers to aim them, they built straight out from the pillar. theres plenty of room to aim them. they image ok, but could be better.
with the 4", i can RTA pretty smooth curves. dont wanna change that. any smaller will not transition well with my 8" mids in the doors.
