Regardless, he's right in that it'd be surprising if OP gets anything close to his asking price. Your lights are very nice, but the market just isn't there for two grand headlights. I'd put these lights in the "for people with too much money" category, and people with too much money aren't modding G35's these days. That being said, best of luck to OP with the sale!

uffff.....

Used TL, TSX proyectors on a junkyard or ebay $200.00 each
Used 06 G35 HLs with modded color int. $300.00
These items new from the box and them combine all of them to create these top of the line HLs. ........priceless

A simple explanation why the $2,500 tag is real only for the seller and unreal for the rest of us. If you DIY these with junkyard or ebay materials you will get paying around $1,000.00 in the most for these.

Take in mind that he is using brand new materials ( I think so for the price,if not, is a rape ) to reach a tag price of over $2,500. If you are a really demanding customer with your car.. these set is for you. If you are and average customer like most of us, these set price/product is not for us.

Your modded HLs are awesome... but the price reason is out of reach for almost all of us. Remember.... "Your lose is our gain" and if you spend too much on these you will never get near what you really invest.

The real thing here is that the $800.00 offer will be the most for that, like the other fellow member state. Nice work of "art" your HLs but you will have to reconsider the price to something more negotiable. Good luck with the sale!!!

I dont get why any of you feel like you need to throw in your 2 cents. Unless you have actually done anything like this and know how demanding the work is to do what I do. Nothing you say has any weight. Fact of the matter is Ive sold plenty for price exceeding the original price. And if you can get a set made by someone for whatever it is you think it's worth, more power to you. Chances are you have no idea, just empty pockets and full load of bs that you think somehow people should price it lower because YOU can't afford it.

Keep saying exotic cars are too expensive won't make it any cheaper for you. take a hike.

Ok,

At the most, the "raw materials" you need to make these headlights shouldnt' exceed the amount of $1000. And thats considering everything is new, which you most probably use, new parts. Additionaly, you charge about $200 to paint the headlights any color, so that would mean that the price for getting the "raw materials" and painting the headlights is $1200, which means that the only other price to include into that amount is labor and shipping. Lets just say shipping is $300, which is an extremely high estimate. That would mean, the price for the "raw materials," painting the headlights, and shipping would be about $1500.

To conclude, that means that the total labor cost would be $1000. Now to me that is honestly riduculous.

Im seriously not trying to bash on you, the fact that a lot of people buy from you doesnt simply make the headlights you sell "a good price." That just means people are willing to spend that much for the good quality headlights that you make. But a lot of people will disagree about the price.

Thats my honest 2 cents.

same reason why some would pay for authentic some for replicas. We can argue to no ends about why you won't spend the money. But I really only care about those who won't need any further convincing. You buy it or you don't. I don't get what's all the 2 cents about, if I get that much in donations every time someone thinks my product is expensive I won't need to be in business, that doesn't mean I should lower my price, it just means no matter what price, there will be someone who can't afford it, and chances are I don't really care what you think is fair, at the end of the day you aren't going to buy anything anyway. So save me the economic 101 lessons. Please.

And just FYI Im pretty sure they are spoken for, the guy is just busy.

I think you should care what our 2 cents are, we are you customers and you should care what your customers think. Unless you only start caring when the money is being flashed at you.

Guys, i agree the original price of these were pretty step, but what do you want him do do all that work for free?? Common now!!!
$1000 for labor although maybe higher than others, is a pretty reasonable price IMO. Say he charges $40/hr, thats only 25 hours of work, $30- 33 hours. The amount of time it's take an average person to do this is way more than that.
If you feel his prices are too high anyone of you is more than welcome to start doing this!
I've giving IGT shiit before as well but he work is awesome, and IMO the price for this item is pretty fair!

Anyways GL withthe sale OP!

I never said his work is bad, he does some of the best headlights ive ever seen. Im just simply stating why so many people are complaining about the price.

To put it in simpler terms,

You can either pay the full price and be 100% satisfied with what you bought, or you can pay a cheaper price to someone else and have doubts whether what you bought was actually done right etc.

I've done about 10 G35 headlight retrofits and 3-4 other non G35 headlights. The toughest part of this work is fitting projectors in a headlight that was never designed to hold that projector. Then you have to have everything aimed correctly (up/down/left/right/rotation).

My first set of quad projectors took me 6 months on and off, it was about 100 hours of work, since I made custom cutoff shields for the TSX projectors.

I'm currently working on another set of quad projectors (for my own car), and it's been one month, about 30 hours. I haven't even got to the shrouds. 3 hours yesterday was just working on refining the cutoff beam.

I say all this just to give people an idea of the labor involved. The amount I earned from labor in the past, I could make in a few hours at my day job, hence why I stopped this work for others.

Haha yeah this guy sounds like a real class act. "Don't like my price? **** off you can't afford them anyway." I was going to reply to him but after reading his past two posts, it's not even worth it.

And you wonder why I stopped doing it. Yes I have not accepted any orders for a while and don't plan to. This kind of crowd is just what I don't need.

I bring a product to the market at a price. a price which most can not justify despite knowing the expensive nature of components and intensive tedious labor. They just want the look for cheap, but anyone smart enough won't even touch this kind of work. Ask clearcorner if they do anything of the sort, they charge upwards of $2000 for their headlights with MUCH less features, some people don't bat an eye and that's more power to his marketing.

It's very simple I understand full well the minds of the crowd and I say crowd because most of you aren't even potential customers, you think you are but you wouldn't even question how I justify my prices if you really knew what you wanted. Instead most of you just want the look but won't pay the price.

I don't need everyone and their mother to come to a thread relating to my product, not knowing the nature of the product and start dissecting the price breakdown like we are in econ 101 and act as if I should learn my lesson because I have no clue.

Like I said and I will say again, if you can find someone else to do the work for cheaper, more power to you, while you are at it leave my thread at peace. Please.
