the key must be cut and programmed by a locksmith or infiniti dealership. The fob can be programmed easily on your own, but if u go to an infiniti dealership for the key, they will probably program the remote for free.

The key fob I am not sure of....check the info stamped on the back of your key fob, it should match the FCC id etc. that I provided above if it is to work.

The key will work with the following:
2004 Infiniti G35

2004-2006 NISSAN/DATSUN 350Z ROADSTER

2005-2006 NISSAN/DATSUN ALTIMA

2004-2008 NISSAN/DATSUN ARMADA

2006-2008 NISSAN/DATSUN AXXES, NX, STANZA, FRONTIER

2004-2007 NISSAN/DATSUN MAXIMA

2003-2008 NISSAN/DATSUN MURANO

2005-2008 NISSAN/DATSUN PATHFINDER

2004-2008 NISSAN/DATSUN QUEST

2004-2008 NISSAN/DATSUN TITAN

2005-2008 NISSAN/DATSUN XTERRA

2005-2008 Infiniti G35

2003-2008 Infiniti M45

2002-2005 Infiniti Q45

2004-2008 Infiniti QX56

2007 NISSAN/DATSUN VERSA

this will work for an 05 coupe? do you know how much it'd cost to get the key cut? does the chip inside the key need to be programmed too?

according to the ILCO key blank catalogue, it will work with the 05 as well. You can confirm here:

The key does need to be programmed to your car. It really depends on your area, but where I live the dealership wanted something like 60 bucks (i asked a long time ago and cant quite remember) to program the key and said theyd cut it for free. It may be cheaper for you because I remember reading that some locksmiths in Cali were able to cut and program the keys. I'm sure they'd charge less than the stealership.

Does anyone know if a Nissan dealership can do this. I live over 2 hours to the nearest Infiniti dealership. It is a 2004 Coupe.

I lost my keys tonight at work. I have some pretty small pockets on my jacket and I think may have fallen out. I cannot find them and I think someone may have pocketed them. I work at a Casino with lots of cameras, so if they did take my keys, they probably would not try to drive off from there. I am going to ride my bike to work the rest of the week, but I do need to get reprogrammed. I have a two spare keys(I think one is a Valey key) and a key fob and would just need them to be reprogrammed. I am hoping that Nissan will do this. Otherwise, I will have to go to the Infiniti dealership.

...and I am hoping it does not cost too much.

There is actually a DIY on this forum that I found that tells you how to reprogram the key fob. My only question is whether or not it reprograms the key as well and renders the lost key and fob useless.

I contacted the guy that created the DIY and am waiting for a response.
