WTB Akebono Brake Kit

I have an 03 G35 Coupe non-Brembo setup and would like to get a full kit for aesthetic reasons only. I have the optional 18" stock wheels on there now and would also be curious about if these brakes will clear the wheels. I need to know before I buy so if anyone knows off hand, any info. is appreciated. I saw a vendor on this site selling these kits with stoptech rotors I believe, whole kit for $1800 new.

I will not be doing any real racing, maybe a track day for fun but unlikely.

Any feedback on pros/ cons of this brake setup are also appreciated. I'm just sick of looking at the ugly rotors and calipers that come stock with all the rust, dust, squealing, ect. I might also go aftermarket wheels this spring.

Thanks!

P.S. anyone in the North East (MA, NH, RI) host garage days that would assist with an install of above mentioned brake kit?

I also dislike the factory calipers. Esp since I'm getting aftermarket wheels, I want the car to pop as far as aethetics go. No tracking for me. Just daily driving and cruising. So, we might be in the same boat. I got the Akebono kit because it's the best bang for the buck, ya know? For extra pop, I had the calipers powder coated Candy Blue w/ white "Akebono" painted on. Because of all the snow we've been getting, I hadn't had a chance to install them. Now that I've gotten my tax refund money, I'm considering selling my Akebono kit and might want to take it up a notice to a 6/4 pot BBK. So, if you're interested, let me know, and we'll go from there.

BTW, last I heard, the Akebonos do not fit the factory 18"s without spacers. probably 15-20mm. You can try these templates to be sure:

Another drawback, you can not use your factory spare donut if you get a flat.

I hope that helps.

Peace.

You could always keep a spacer with your spare to throw on incase you have to use it..

sorry for the tease and thread jack. I'm going to shop around for the next few days to see what I'm looking at as far as an "even bigger" BBK. If I find something, I'll post up my Akebonos for sale in a new thread. Thanks for all the interest.
