how hard is it to make a sub box
Hi, I was thinking about adding two subs to the back of my car. I already have a custom box I bought that holds 2 10in w3v3's in the back. I was thinking about adding one to each corner of the trunk. I have seen custom boxes made like this for 12in subs.
How hard would this be to make? I have very little experience working on cars, but have 2 friends who have a better working knowledge on this stuff then I do.
Also, how do you guys think this will sound?
thanks

very very easy. if you are a little handy with a saw then you are good to go. There are tons of guides on the internet with step by step instructions. search google or look at cardomain.
thanks...i guess i just wanted to make sure it was worth investing money into it. Only other question..would you or anyone else be able to suggest fiber glass or wood? I have heard mix reactions to both

Depends on the materials you want to use.
Well, based on the fact that you said you want to add 1 to each corner, it sounds like you want to use fiberglass. There are some tutorials on the internet, but it is certainly not easy if you are new to this type of thing. MDF boxes are very easy as BigSash said. Do alot of research before attempting to build a fiberglass box. It is something that you learn with experience. I am not trying to talk you out of it, because I am all about DIY!! Good luck!

LOL sorry i mean i figured he just wanted a simple box.
If you are trying to DIY build a simple MDF box, if you want something showy that is fiberglassed you are going to have a very difficult time unless you already have extensive experience working with FG or bondo or you are an expert surfboard shaper lol.
you want to build a simple MDF box for your first one

here is a guide to a sparewell FG tutorial.
not for the light of heart and it takes several days with all the drying curing.

if you wanted a sparewell enclosure out of MDF you can use this same tutorial.
