Using an LOC to add an aftermarket amp

So you need an LOC to connect the stock Bose HU to an aftermarket amp...I get that. My question is where is the connector (to which you would connect the VEN4 or other LOC) located?

Will I have to remove the HU to connect the LOC, and run my own wiring to the amp or is the connection point in the trunk area near the amp?

Just unplug the wiring harness at the Bose amp and tap into the harness just behind the plug.

Should be inside a panel next to the spare tire.
