..and pulled up on the wrong piece of the AT shifter assembly.
Only 30 bucks of fun!
The box it came in reads:
IND-AUTO TRANS
230106
96944-AC700
And is called the transmission indicator, or at least that's what the parts guy I dealt with indicated..

And the instructions to replace:
1. Set emergency brake, turn on car but don't start, put car into neutral.
2. Fire up some tunes..
3. Pull shifter boot down, remove retaining clip and handle.
4. Use puddy knife or something soft to pop the whole assembly (there are some DIYs around for this part).
5. Disconnect the two cables
6. There are two screws on the bottom (see above bottom pic for where the screw towers are), remove them.
7. Pop it out and replace.
8. Put back in reverse.
And I swear, my Ipod sounds better now.. Everyone should do this mod!
