Bluetooth Caller Id Questions

Well I have the premuim package but my Sprint Samsung phone PM-A849 is not Bluetooth enabled. So Ive been researching the pros and cons. Ive read all about the "mic problems, dropped calls etc"

Anyways my question is for the poeple that are using it, when a call comes in are you able to tell who is calling by looking at your cell phone?

If caller id is disabled then im not even going to use the system so I just want to know before I consider buying a new phone so I can use this option.

Thanks

The caller ID still works on the phone so you can tell who is calling but you have to look at your phone for it. I wish the radio display would show a caller ID but all in all, I still love my bluetooth!

you can save names in your car's phonebook so if that person calls, then it will announce it, or you can look at your phone.

I haven't had any problems with mine. The voice seems to come out of the the passenger side speaker and I usualy turn the volume up to 20 or 21 and have been able to converse fine... I keep my phone in the ashtray and can look at it easily to see who is on the ID. I'm 6'2" so my mellon is right near the MIC and every one says they can hear me fine but it does obviously sound different... hope that helps....

Thanks guys for the info, this is exactly what I was trying to find out.

I'm going to start looking into my phone options, it just sucks because I got this phone like 3 months ago.

You would lose the car's OEM bluetooth, but many good aftermarket HU's have BT built-in.

The G35 doesnt announce the caller, maybe the M series.

Anyways to answer the original question, yes you can see the caller ID, but like someone said, I have assigned different ring tones to the most frequent callers, so I dont have to take my eyes off the road.
