Getting new components. Will it fit?

I am doing a complete audio upgrade to my 05' coupe. Best Buy broke my stock stereo and I got them to replace it with an AVIC-D2, which is getting installed this weekend. Now I'm trying to figure out which speakers to install. I've been poking around on this board for a while now and I've heard a lot of great things about Focal component sets. I am looking at the 6.5" K2's or V2's. Has anyone installed these into the stock speaker locations? Will they fit? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

any 6.5" woofer will fit in the door given a proper mounting/adapter ring is fabbed. Your problem is whether or not the tweeter will fit, which I have no idea how the focal tweeters fit (or don't fit).

I don't like focal at all.

Curious...What are your dislikes about Focal?

A friend of mine has a set of older polyglass components and I have to say that they sound great! Softer tones, good clarity, good midbass, and a great bang for the buck IMO. Goto the websites and check the dimensions on the sets you are looking at. They should have tweeter mounting depth/width along with the depth for the woofer. The stock woofer location is pretty generous and should be able to accomodate most deep woofers. As for the tweets, dunno.

The focals that have been demoed to me all sound very harsh, very bright, whatever terminology you want to use. Bothers the crap out of me.

I realize that the tweeters would probably need to be put in a spot different from the stock location. That's cool with me. I found some info on this board saying that there is only 2.5" of depth in the door panels. I was worried about the Focal's fitting. It sounds like I can use a spacer to make them fit even if they are a little deep. If someone was actually running these in the stock locations it would be great to hear how they fit. Thanks all.
