I've worked on the radio in my car and have taken it apart several times. I can take out the radio in my G in less than two minutes. at first it took me a while, but if you know what you're doing, it can be done really quickly.

Grey Ghost-Did you have an aftermarket car alarm installed? The thieves probably checked to see if you only had the factory alarm.

Eclipse headunits do have ESN ( electronic security network ). Wont prevent theft, but if ESN feature was activated, unit will be useless to thieves. Unit will not turn-on, unless you insert a disc programmed by owner. Also if owner registers unit with Eclipse, if stolen, and if thieves are stupid enough to call eclipse for Help or assistance, the electronic serial# provided, will show unit was stolen. Also if unit was purchased and installed at an authorized dealer, if stolen, Eclipse will replace unit, no charge.

By the way, our car is a real b*tch to get the head unit in and out of...

Anything can be taken if you are a pro, including the whole car. However, most likely your average thief is going to mess up your dash trying to yank the thing out and not be able to do it.

you obviously don't have an 03-04 model which is much harder to remove, even the world's best expert would be hard pressed to do it in less than 15 minutes.

That only applies if the HU itself is stolen, if they steal the whole car and then steal the HU you are SOL on the replacement

I pull the 03-04 out in about 20 minutes, just rolling along. If I didn't care about the car (like a theif), it could be done in under 10 mins. By the way, the 03-04 is almost no more work than the 05-06. I've done installs on both for members on here.

Understand, but a thief is just going to yank the dash apart, I.E. break it apart!

you obviously must be a dumb @$$ who doesn't know how to work on a G. Bring me your G and I'll take your radio out in less than 3 minutes without damaging anything. And then laugh when you damage your car when you try to put it back together since YOU OBVIOUSLY DON'T KNOW HOW TOO! MORON!! HAHAHAHA!

lol, ok n00b, since it's so easy for you why don't you make a quick video clip of you doing it in 3 minutes, i am sure many G owners would be very impressed by your technique as every1 else around here finds it quite tedious to do. & like others said, would be hard pressed to do it in less than 20 minutes.

I basically think you are full of **** and a liar. you probably get your work done at Al & Ed's.

liar
